About Us

THE MINISTRY

Love Of Christ Ministries, Inc. is a 501(C) (3) charitable organization that provides two tracks of counseling; traditional psychotherapy as well as faith based therapy. The faith based therapy approach integrates the psychotherapy approach with the exploration and implementation of Biblical principles in the context of the client’s presenting issues, thereby “Ministering to those who hurt” (2 Cor 1:3-5). Additional social services such as case management, advocacy, consultations and referrals are also provided.

LOCM started as a support group in a local church in Queens, New York in 1995. The first meeting had over 20 individuals attend. This grew into a private practice and spanned three locations, Queens, N.Y. Nanuet, N.Y. and Haskell, NJ. In 2009 LOCM relocated to Wellington, Colorado and obtained its 501(C) (3) status.

The Ministry continues to provide love and support to those individuals, couples and families who are experiencing spiritual and emotional pain and, suffering as a result of past or present circumstances. Firmly believing that it is Biblical (Galatians 6:2), and in obedience to our Lord’s command to, “…love one another…” (John 13:34), LOCM offers services which are based upon the healing available through the Love of Christ and His compassionate mercies.

THE VISION

The Bible says, “Without a vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18 KJV); the same can be said for LOCM. As such, the vision of this ministry will continue to be written down and proclaimed, guiding us, continually reminding us of our purpose. The Lord provided us with a vision, a responsibility to provide a haven for children who have been so terribly abused or neglected that they do not have a safe place to live. This will be a place of love, healing, wholeness and acceptance; a place of safety where there is no fear.

OUR MANDATE

Many of the sessions listed below were conducted on a sliding scale or pro-bono basis. This is in obedience to the Lord’s mandate that no one is to be denied needed services based on ability to pay. This has certainly stretched our faith, but God has been faithful to provide for the financial needs of the Ministry in a variety of creative and marvelous ways.
